INGREDIENTS

1 pkt Suzy Spoon’s Smoked Chilli Sausages

6 hot dog rolls

Include any of your favourite hot dog toppings Vegan cheese, Fried onions Gherkins, Spinach, Mustard Chilli jam sauce below

CHILLI JAM - makes 1-2 cups 3 hours to cook

250g  Red chillies

2 Onion, diced 

2 Garlic cloves, minced 

125ml Olive oil

1 Lime 

1/2 Lime zest 

1 Cinnamon stick 

1 Apple, green, peeled, cored & diced 250g Tomatoes, diced 

50g Sugar, brown

CHILLI DOG WITH HOME MADE CHILLI JAM

METHOD

Place the chilli, onions, garlic, oil and lime zest in food processor until smooth. Pour the chilli and onion puree into a heavy based saucepan and place over a medium heat. Add the cinnamon stick, apples, tomatoes and 200 ml of water. Cover and cook at a low simmer for 2 hours, stir regularly and add water if needed so it doesn’t dry out. Add lime juice and sugar and simmer on low for a further hour.

To cook the sausages, heat some oil in a medium sized, non stick fry pan on a medium heat. Add the sausages and cook until brown all over and hot all the way through. Cut your hot dog buns and add the sausage, toppings, sauces & chilli jam. YUM!
